Privacy Policy

Section 1 – What Do We Do With Your Information?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect personal information such as your name, address, and email address.
When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, which helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
If you choose to subscribe to our mailing list, we may send you emails about Studio Calm, new products, special offers, and other updates — but only with your permission.

Section 2 – Consent

How do you give your consent?
When you provide personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange delivery, or request a return, we understand that you consent to our collecting and using it for that specific purpose only.
If we ask for your information for another reason — for example, marketing — we will either ask for your explicit consent or provide you with an option to decline.

How can you withdraw your consent?
If you change your mind after opting in, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you or to continue collecting, using, or disclosing your information at any time by contacting us at info@studio-calm.com.

Section 3 – Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if required by law or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Section 4 – Shopify

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Shopify’s secure data storage, databases, and the Shopify application — all protected by a firewall.

Payment:
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, Shopify stores your credit card information. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your transaction data is retained only as long as necessary to complete your purchase, after which it is deleted.
All direct payment gateways comply with PCI-DSS standards, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council (including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover). These standards ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Section 5 – Third-Party Services

In general, third-party providers used by Studio Calm will collect, use, and disclose your information only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services for us.
However, certain providers — such as payment gateways or transaction processors — have their own privacy policies regarding the information we are required to share with them for your purchases.
We recommend reviewing their privacy policies so you understand how your personal data is managed by these providers.

Please note that some providers may be located in or operate from a different jurisdiction than either you or Studio Calm. If you proceed with a transaction involving a third-party service provider, your data may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that provider or its facilities are based.
For example, if you are located in the UK and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway in the United States, your information may be subject to disclosure under U.S. legislation such as the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party site or application, this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service no longer apply.

Links:
When you click on links within our store, they may direct you to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

Section 6 – Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to prevent it from being lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card details, that information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted security measures.

Section 7 – Cookies

Below is a list of cookies we use, so you can decide whether to opt out or not:

  • _session_id – unique token, sessional: allows Shopify to store information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc.)

  • _shopify_visit – no data held, persists for 30 minutes from last visit, used by Shopify’s internal tracker to record visit counts

  • _shopify_uniq – no data held, expires at midnight of the next day, counts the number of visits to the store by a single customer

  • cart – unique token, persists for 2 weeks, stores information about cart contents

  • _secure_session_id – unique token, sessional

  • storefront_digest – unique token, indefinite; determines access if the shop has a password

Section 8 – Age of Consent

By using this site, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority and have given us consent to allow your minor dependents to use this site.

Section 9 – Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will take effect immediately upon posting on our website. If we make significant updates, we will notify you here so you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances it may be disclosed.
If Studio Calm is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so we can continue to sell and provide products to you.
